Content Associate Program

This highly competitive program is packed with all kinds of learning and development opportunities. First, you’ll jump right in as an entry-level Production Assistant (PA) and rotate through areas like Studio, Event and International Production. It’s all designed to help you gain the skills you need to advance into a Content Associate (CA) role. Not to mention put you on the fast track to becoming a Production leader at ESPN.

Duties may include:

  • 59% Supporting the production of live or taped studio shows and events
  • 23% Assisting in location productions and performing crew functions, if needed
  • 10% Supporting ESPN's various international networks
  • 8% Creating the highlights and video elements you see on ESPN's networks every day

We’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated communication, organization and leadership skills
  • High level of familiarity with ESPN programming, platforms and studio shows
  • For some positions, fluency in Spanish and knowledge of multiple cultures is necessary
  • Strong knowledge of all major and college sports

Things to consider:

ESPN offers a competitive salary and benefits package. With very few exceptions, positions are located in Bristol, Connecticut. PAs and CAs often work weekends and holidays, and are eligible for overtime. PAs and CAs are expected to perform under tight deadlines and to react quickly and positively under a wide variety of production situations. Production Operations Associate Program

Are you ready to hit the ground running? With three 8-month job rotations, you’ll gain exposure and hands-on experience across our Production operational areas. It’s a great opportunity to gain specialized knowledge, work with the latest technology and take your career to the next level.

Duties may include:

Pie Chart
  • 30% Operating a studio camera during live broadcasts and pre-recorded segments
  • 20% Functioning as a Master Control Operator
  • 20% Non-linear editing of content for live or pre-recorded studio shows and events
  • 15% Assisting with audio-related responsibilities
  • 10% Monitoring clips for quality control and playback for air during all productions
  • 5% Server-based ingesting and quality control of Program and Commercial media

  • Individuals who are passionate about all aspects of behind-the-scenes television production
  • Team players who are willing to commit to the common goal of serving the sports fan
  • Demonstrated communication, organization and leadership skills
  • Flexibility in scheduling, as shifts range around the clock due to the 24/7 nature of the business

Associate Operators often work weekends, late night or early morning hours and holidays, and are eligible for overtime. Digital Media Associate Program

This highly competitive program develops experienced graduates and junior-level employees for increased responsibility at ESPN. As one of our Digital Media Associates (DMAs), you’ll gain personalized learning experiences based on individual objectives and current business needs. You’ll also get real-world exposure to our digital and print platforms, like editorial, mobile, video, social and creative design – all while deepening your cross-functional knowledge.   • 42% Leading or supporting social media strategy
  • 33% Writing and/or editing editorial content for ESPN.com and/or ESPN The Magazine
  • 13% Partnering with WatchESPN to help drive 24/7 live programming viewership
  • 7% Assisting the Digital Video department
  • 5% Managing various projects across the Digital & Print Media department

We’re looking for:

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated knowledge of content creation aligned to the sports industry, digital landscape and creative community
  • Leaders who take initiative yet are wired to follow, listen and learn as appropriate
  • Mature patience for steady career growth and project placement
  • Team thinkers curious about versatile factors involving content and business

Things to consider:

ESPN offers a competitive salary and benefits package. A total of four DMA positions are located in Bristol, Connecticut. Hours for the year-long program are determined by rotational project scope and need. A large component of the DMA Program is tied to mentorship from distinguished leaderships.

DMA Experience

In this 12-month program, you’ll integrate into our culture, complete layered rotations, explore additional departments of interest through networking and job shadowing opportunities, and compile robust individual portfolios of work. The layered rotations align specifically to meet departmental needs and the preferred experiences of each DMA. While the DMA culture fosters individualized ownership on behalf of each DMA’s own desired career path, the program offers a collective team atmosphere.

DMA Mentorship

The introduction of key decision makers and senior leaders at the intersection of content and business is an integral part of the DMA learning experience. You’ll have the opportunity to learn directly from senior leadership and gain access to other appropriate internal experts. Apply now
